During September this year I had the joy of building a winter fairy set for a very special little girl. Her grandmother, my midwife from when I was pregnant with my daughter a couple years back, contacted me in the summer to discuss a fairy session for her granddaughter. She wanted it to be a surprise for her daughter for Christmas. I was over the moon to create this session for her and to give her granddaughter a magical experience. When they arrived, we talked about fairies, and her favorite movie, Frozen. We listened to Disney songs, and read a special poem that a fairy had left for her. At the end of the session we ate cupcakes, and she got to go home with her fairy wings, fairy crown, and fairy wand. It's always such a challenge for me to hold back from sharing images. I love what I do, but sometimes sessions are all about special surprises. That's always so much fun, and I love the anticipation that comes for the gift giver too, waiting to share the images with whomever they're gifting to, in this case a special gift for her daughter. Fairy sessions are always so magical and joyful to create. Little girls adore dressing up and using their imagination, and it's such a special, endearing time in childhood. So without further ado, here are the images from this very magical winter fairy session. I hope these images bring so much joy for this little girl and her mother, and grandmother for many, many years to come. If you have a special little girl in your life that you'd love to create a fairy session for, please feel free to contact me at jessicaallisonportrait@gmail.com or 208-794-3293. I would be honored to be a part of creating some magic and sparkle in your life and hers.

Has Christmas touched your heart, yet? It's only a few more days away. The magic of Christmas is a wonderful experience, if you let it be. It can be joyful, despite the crowds. It can be inspiring, when you give with love. It can elevate your soul when you take time for reflection and also focus on peace. I love Christmas. Childhood is a magical time, and Christmas allows all of us a chance to feel like a kid again, no matter how old we get. From traditions, food, smells, the chill in the air, the bright light of decorations on houses, snuggling up to the same old Christmas movies and cartoons each year, connecting with family and friends, perhaps you serve others, and rejoice in celebrating Jesus' birth. Most of us have at least one thing we can find to love about this time of year. What Christmas songs, art, and traditions do you cherish? What songs do your children cherish? I hope you and your children are creating beautiful experiences and memories together this year, and that the love between you lasts a lifetime. This session was something I dreamed of doing when I found out I was pregnant with my little girl in November 2015. I knew I wanted to do a Christmas angel series. This year I went for it, and I'm so glad I did. I'm in love with these images and my little daughter. It'll be a tradition to do a new Christmas series each year with her. I'm wanting to do more angle photos too in the future. I believe in angels, and I feel like their presence is always stronger during Christmastime. I love reading about angels and people's experiences with them. I love angel artwork, and songs about angels. This made me very happy to create this series. Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing o’er the plains, And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strains. Gloria, in excelsis Deo! I'd love to share my most favorite Christmas song with you. It has been my favorite Christmas song since I was a child. There are many covers of this song by talented musicians, and I cannot choose a favorite, because I pretty much love this song whenever I hear by whomever is singing it. ;) One thing for sure is, can't go wrong with listening to Bocelli, and it's pretty awesome to hear him paired with Mary J. Blige. May there always be an angel by your side. May you have a meaningful and merry Christmas! xo, Jessica Thanks for checking out the blog. If you like what you see, feel free to share!
